How early does constipation start in pregnancy?

I've been facing some constipation issues for the past few days, and my period is also late. I know constipation can be a pregnancy symptom for some women. How early in pregnancy does this problem usually start?

Haan, this can start as early as the 2nd or 3rd week itself because of progesterone slowing everything down, samjhe na? Just try to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Look, progesterone increases right from the start, so sluggish digestion is very common in the first month. Eat fiber-rich foods daily and don't let it build up.

Our doctor told us that progesterone relaxes the bowel muscles, which can cause constipation as early as week 4 or 5. She advised including plenty of green leafy vegetables and oats in the daily diet.

It actually started for my wife around the first month itself, yaar. It was super annoying, but eating papayas (only after asking doctor) and high fiber really helped.

I have seen many young mothers complain about this by the second month. Drink warm water in the morning and add some ghee to your dal, it helps keep things moving naturally.

Your body is going through beautiful but intense changes, sometimes starting in the first few weeks. Stay positive, drink fresh fluids, and let your body adapt peacefully.

While mild constipation is normal in early weeks, please get it checked by your doctor if it becomes painful or if you see any blood. Don't take any over-the-counter laxatives on your own.

Hormones can slow digestion by week 5. Keeping up with a light morning walk and eating flaxseeds or high-fiber grains can prevent it from getting worse.
