How early do u start showing in pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my first child, and I'm really excited. My mum says some women start showing quite early, while others take longer. When does one typically start to show a baby bump, is there a general timeframe?

Most women don't show at all in the first trimester. Usually, a tiny baby bump starts appearing around 12 to 16 weeks, so please don't worry about it too much.

For my wife, a small bump was visible only around the 4th or 5th month. Since we had to monitor her BP, we focused more on her lifestyle, salt intake, and regular doctor visits than when she would start showing.

Our doctor explained that showing depends on your height, abdominal muscle strength, and whether it's your first pregnancy. For first-timers, the bump usually doesn't show clearly until week 16 to 20, though bloating can make you look bigger early on.

I panicked during my 14th week because my belly still looked completely flat and I thought something was wrong. But then my doctor reassured me it's totally normal, and suddenly by the 18th week, the bump popped out!

Hey, don't stress too much about the bump size! In the early weeks, it's mostly just bloating from hormones anyway. The real baby bump takes its sweet time, usually after the 4th month.

I kept comparing my stomach with photos online and got so anxious because I wasn't showing at 13 weeks. Everyone's body structure is different, so try not to compare yourself with others, it will happen eventually.
