How early can heartburn start in pregnancy?

I found out I'm pregnant just last week, so I'm very early on. But I'm already experiencing a lot of heartburn after eating; is it normal for it to start so soon?

I started getting terrible heartburn just a week after my missed period, which is quite new for me. Is it normal to experience this so early, or could it be due to something else I ate?

My health tracker logs show that heartburn can start around the 6th week of pregnancy. This happens because the hormone progesterone relaxes the valve between your stomach and esophagus, letting acid creep up.

For me, the crazy burning sensation in my chest started right around the 5th week! Eating small meals throughout the day and staying upright after eating really helped me manage it.

Yes, even simple home food starts causing acidity around the 5th week, ho na. Drinking coconut water in the morning really helped to cool things down, haan na.

I completely understand how uncomfortable and alarming sudden chest burning can feel. Heartburn can start as early as the first month due to hormonal shifts, so please don't worry, it is a very common early symptom.

Heartburn can trigger around the 6th week. I recommend avoiding spicy or fried vegetarian food, and instead having cold milk or buttermilk in small sips to soothe the stomach lining naturally.

I got severe burning in my throat around week 4 and immediately started worrying it was some gastric infection. But it turned out to be just early pregnancy hormones relaxing the digestive tract, so please don't stress.
