How does cortisol affect weight loss?

Despite eating healthy and exercising, noticed I'm struggling to lose weight, especially around my midsection. Read somewhere that cortisol, the stress hormone, can play a role in this. How exactly does high cortisol impact weight loss and fat distribution?

I completely understand how frustrating it is when you eat clean but the scale doesn't budge. High cortisol, which is our stress hormone, tells the body to hold onto fat, especially around the belly. Please don't blame yourself, stress is a real physical barrier.

Totally agree. High cortisol spikes your insulin and makes you crave sugary comfort foods, which completely stops weight loss.

I used to panic thinking my metabolism was permanently broken because of my stressful job. But once I started sleeping properly, my cortisol levels stabilized and the weight slowly started coming off. It is a very normal body reaction, so relax.

In our younger days, we didn't talk about cortisol, we just called it life tension. When you worry too much, your digestion slows down and the body stores energy as fat for safety. Calm your mind with daily prayers or quiet time, and the body will follow.

Listen, cortisol is just a survival hormone that slows down your metabolism during tough times. When you stress, your body thinks there is a famine and hoards fat. Take a deep breath, reduce your workload slightly, and don't push yourself too hard.

Honestly, I was working 14-hour shifts and hitting the gym like crazy but still gaining weight. Turns out my cortisol was through the roof from lack of sleep, which basically blocked my fat loss. Cutting back on caffeine and sleeping 8 hours fixed it for me.

Bro, high cortisol is literally the biggest enemy of your gym gains! It makes you crave junk food at midnight and stores everything as belly fat. Just don't stress too much about the daily scale numbers, relax and enjoy your workouts.

I ignored high stress and fatigue for years, thinking it was just work pressure, until my blood pressure and weight went out of control. Cortisol can mess up your entire endocrine system if left unchecked. Please get your hormone levels checked by a doctor before starting any heavy diet.
