Does wine help weight loss?

My friends were joking that a glass of wine a day might actually help with weight loss, and I've seen some articles online suggesting benefits. I'm trying to cut down actually, but if wine helps, I might reconsider. Is there any truth to this?

With my thyroid issues, my metabolism is already slow, and my doctor strictly warned me that wine has empty calories that stall weight loss. It's much better to get regular thyroid tests and follow a doctor-approved diet plan rather than relying on wine hacks.

Agreed, wine doesn't help with weight loss at all. The calories in alcohol actually make it harder to lose weight.

I was researching this online because of those articles about 'resveratrol' in red wine helping burn fat. But honestly, most fitness studies say the alcohol content and sugar in it completely ruin your diet goals.

Let's be real, wine has zero weight loss benefits. It's packed with liquid calories that can easily put you in a calorie surplus. If you want to lose weight, skip the alcohol and focus on your daily steps.

I wish wine helped with weight loss, I really do! But in reality, after two glasses of wine, I end up ordering late-night cheese fries, which definitely doesn't help my scale.

There is a common misconception that red wine aids weight loss due to antioxidants. However, the alcohol and sugar content can negatively affect liver function and metabolic rate. Consulting a doctor or nutritionist for a balanced diet is always the best approach.

I used to panic thinking even one glass of wine would completely ruin my fitness progress. Don't worry, an occasional glass on weekends won't make you gain weight as long as your daily routine is healthy.

No, wine is not a remedy for weight loss. Simple warm water with a little lemon or fenugreek water in the morning is much healthier. If you have sudden, unexplained weight gain, please see a doctor.
