Does wellpoint cover weight loss medication?

My knees have been hurting a lot lately, and the physio said losing some weight would help immensely. I was thinking of exploring some weight loss medications. Does my insurance plan, like Wellpoint, generally cover these types of medicines?

Honestly, trying to read their policy document at 2 AM was so confusing I almost fell asleep. They seem to cover very few specific ones, and the process is a headache.

Yes, they rarely cover it without a medical pre-authorization. Always get your doctor to write a strong recommendation letter.

Managing weight is important, especially since my doctor told me it directly affects my high blood pressure. Make sure you get regular checkups and focus on lifestyle changes, insurance or no insurance.

My back hurts, my knees hurt, and now my insurance won't even cover my weight loss pills. Guess I'll just stick to drinking warm water and hoping for a miracle!

If insurance doesn't cover it, don't waste your hard-earned money. Cutting down tea sugar and walking forty minutes daily is free and highly effective.
