Does weight loss affect breast size?

I've been on a strict diet and exercise plan to lose weight recently. A friend told me that losing a lot of weight can also make your breasts smaller. Is this true? I'm worried about my overall body shape changing too much.

Yes, it definitely does because breasts are made of fatty tissue, so losing weight reduces them. I was so worried about sagging and unevenness when I lost weight. Don't stress, just eat a balanced diet and do chest presses to keep muscles firm!

When my wife was undergoing a major lifestyle change, our doctor at Apollo explained that breast tissue is largely composed of adipose fat. So, overall body fat reduction will naturally decrease breast volume. You can consult a physician for a clearer picture.

I can only speak from my own journey, but when I lost 12 kgs last year, my cup size dropped significantly. It is one of the first places I lost fat. It varies for everyone though, depending on your genetics.

My hormonal fluctuations due to thyroid issues caused a lot of weight changes, which directly impacted my bust size. I highly suggest getting your thyroid panel checked regularly as hormonal balance plays a big role in tissue distribution.

Yes, it does. My gynecologist explained that breasts are a mix of glandular tissue and fat. When you are in a caloric deficit, your body burns fat globally, which includes the lobular fat deposits, leading to a decrease in size.
