Does weight lifting helps in weight loss?

For my weight loss, I usually stick to cardio like running and zumba. My gym trainer is now suggesting I add weight lifting, saying it burns more fat. Does lifting weights actually help a lot in losing weight compared to just cardio?

In my younger days, we only did running for fitness. But I started light dumbbells in my 50s and realized that building muscle keeps your metabolism active even when you are resting. It is a very effective way to stay lean.

Yes, lifting weights is excellent for fat loss. But please get a general health checkup done before starting. I once jumped into heavy workouts ignoring a minor back ache and ended up with a bad injury that paused my fitness journey for months.

Actually yaar, muscle burns more calories than fat. So when you lift weights, your resting metabolic rate goes up. It is way better than just doing endless cardio on the treadmill.

Lifting weights builds muscle, which naturally improves insulin sensitivity and helps burn glucose. It is highly beneficial for weight control, but always balance it with a low-glycemic, nourishing diet.

I know it can feel really intimidating to step into the weight section of a gym, especially when you are trying to lose weight and feeling self-conscious. But trust me, strength training is incredibly effective and empowering once you start.

haan bhai, lifting weights heavy metabolic boost deta hai. Cardio se sirf thodi der calorie burn hoti hai, par lifting se body resting phase mein bhi fat burn karti hai, na.

I spent months just doing cardio with little progress, but the moment I added basic strength training three times a week, my belly fat started melting. Your body structure changes completely when you build muscle.

I am thinking of starting weight training for weight loss, but I am worried it might make me look bulky instead of slim. Did anyone else have this fear when they first started lifting weights?

Weight training is crucial because it preserves lean muscle while you lose fat. If your doctor clears you for weight training, aim for 3-4 sessions a week combined with daily brisk walking for best results.
