Does throwing up help weight loss?

Some friends were talking about how throwing up after eating can help you lose weight faster. I'm really trying to lose weight and wanted to know if this actually works or if it's harmful.

Oh god, please don't try this, it is actually extremely dangerous! I read that doing this ruins your throat, teeth, and can even cause sudden heart issues because of electrolyte balance going bad. I get anxious just thinking about it, please talk to a professional if you are feeling this way.

Please don't do this to your body. It is very harmful and can make you very weak. Take care of yourself, there are much safer and kinder ways to stay healthy.

I know how stressful the pressure to lose weight can be, and sometimes we think of extreme steps when we are desperate. But throwing up will only hurt your organs and make you very sick emotionally and physically. Please speak to a doctor or a counselor, you deserve proper support.

I was reading a medical blog about this recently and it said that throwing up actually doesn't stop calorie absorption completely, and instead it just damages your esophagus and stomach lining. It sounds really painful and scary. Better to avoid such extreme methods entirely.

This is a very serious medical concern and is a sign of an eating disorder, which needs immediate clinical attention. Please do not attempt this as it can lead to severe internal complications. I highly recommend consulting a physician or a psychiatrist as soon as possible.

Honestly, throwing up doesn't help with real fat loss at all, it only dehydrates you and ruins your metabolism. I went through a very bad phase with my eating habits years ago and it took me a long time to recover. Real, lasting weight loss only comes from sustainable eating and patience.
