Does the va cover weight loss drugs?

My cousin brother, who's a US veteran, is struggling with his weight and his doctor suggested some medication. He asked me to find out if the VA covers weight loss drugs generally. Does the VA cover weight loss drugs?

Yes, they do cover certain FDA-approved weight loss medications, but you should budget for the initial consultation and any required pre-tests. It is always wise to double-check their formulary to avoid any unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.

They actually do, but you might have to jump through a few hoops first, like showing them you actually tried exercising. Don't worry, they won't make you run a marathon before they approve it!

They do cover some options, but I always suggest looking at basic home habits alongside it, like warm water in the morning and portions. Definitely check with your VA doctor to see which medication fits your health profile safely.

My family always tells me to rely on traditional diets for weight management, but I know some conditions need medical help. The VA does provide weight loss drugs if you meet their criteria. Please consult your VA physician to find the safest option for you.

Actually they do cover it, yaar, but they have a proper process. You usually have to join their weight management program first before they write a prescription. Just ask your doc there directly.

Yes, they cover them, but they'll definitely want to see if you can manage those food cravings with lifestyle programs first. It is worth asking your doctor to see what options you qualify for.
