Does strength training help weight loss?

Trying to lose some stubborn belly fat, I've been focusing on cardio. My friend told me that strength training is actually more effective for overall weight loss. Does strength training really help with weight loss, or is cardio better?

I lost 12 kgs over the last year, and honestly, strength training was the game changer. Earlier I only did cardio and got stuck, but once I started lifting weights, my metabolism shot up and the fat just melted away. You should definitely start.

In our younger days, we did simple bodyweight exercises like baithak and dands, which kept us strong and lean. Along with this, drinking warm water with a little honey in the morning helps digestion. Modern strength training is good, but don't strain your joints unnecessarily.

Strength training is excellent for keeping the body's structure strong. True weight loss happens when you combine physical resistance with deep yogic breathing and a clean, mindful diet. It builds inner fire which burns excess fat naturally.

Bro, strength training is 100% required if you don't want to look skinny-fat after losing weight. It keeps your metabolism high and ensures you lose fat, not muscle. Combine it with a high-protein diet and you are good to go.

Absolutely, yes. Cardio burns calories only while you are running, but strength training builds muscle which burns calories even when you are sitting on the couch. Don't just starve yourself, lift some heavy weights if you want real results.

I used to panic thinking lifting weights would make me look bulky and masculine. But actually, it did the exact opposite—I look much leaner and toned now. It is the best way to lose fat and shape your body, so go for it without any fear!
