Does starving cause weight loss?

My friends keep talking about crash diets, saying if you just don't eat much, you'll lose weight fast. I'm wondering if starving yourself really causes weight loss, or if it's more complicated than that?

Starving might show a temporary drop on the scale, but it's mostly water and muscle loss. Ask a professional clinical nutritionist to make a healthy diet chart for you.

As someone with PCOS, I tried starving and it completely messed up my hormones and periods. Balanced eating works way better than skipping meals.

Only if you want to lose your sanity along with it! Seriously, starving just makes you angry and ready to eat a whole pizza later.

Starvation can cause severe nutritional deficiencies and heart strain. Always get your blood profile checked by a doctor before modifying your diet drastically.

It might help you lose weight temporarily, but it causes severe hair fall and weakness. Drink warm buttermilk and eat sprouts instead of starving.

Starving just depletes your glycogen levels. If you track your macros on an app, you'll see you can lose weight while eating plenty of clean food.

No, it's not sustainable. It lowers your productivity and makes you crash by afternoon. Portion control and high-protein snacks are the actual keys to fat loss.
