Does shoe size change with weight loss?

Losing quite a bit of weight recently, and now my shoes feel a bit loose. Does shoe size really change when you lose a significant amount of weight, or is it just my perception?

Yes, it actually does. When you lose significant weight, you lose fat from your feet as well, making them narrower. Don't rush to buy expensive shoes in bulk during your weight loss journey; wait until your weight stabilizes to avoid wasting money.

Haan bhaiya, bilkul badal jata hai. Jab sharir ka vajan kam hota hai toh pairo ki charbi bhi kam ho jati hai. Mere chacha ne jab vajan ghataya toh unka chappal ka size bhi ek number chota ho gaya tha.

With PCOS, water retention is a major issue, and when I managed to lose weight, the swelling in my feet went down significantly. My shoe size dropped by almost half a size! It's a slow process but hang in there, your body is capable of amazing changes.

I lost about 15 kgs last year and honestly, none of my old heels fit me anymore because they keep slipping off! Your feet actually have a lot of fat padding that shrinks with weight loss. It's a great feeling, though buying new shoes can be a bit heavy on the pocket!

As your body weight reduces, the pressure on your feet decreases, which can shrink the width of your feet slightly. Walking barefoot on grass can also help strengthen your feet naturally. However, if you ever experience sudden, painful swelling or numbness in your feet, please consult a doctor immediately.

My feet used to look very swollen when my thyroid levels were fluctuating. Once I got my dosage right and lost some weight, the puffiness vanished and my shoes fit much better. If you have sudden weight changes, please get a thyroid profile done and consult your doctor.
