Does sauna help with weight loss?

I've been going to the gym and seeing people use the sauna after their workout, claiming it helps with losing weight. Does sauna really help with weight loss, or is it just water weight that comes back quickly?

It makes you lose water weight quickly, so you might look a tiny bit slimmer right after, but it's not real fat loss! Still great for relaxing though! 🧖‍♀️

I go to a very reputed hospital in the city for my health checkups, and my doctor told me clearly that saunas only cause water loss, not fat loss. Please ask your cardiologist or general physician before sitting in high heat, as it can affect your heart rate.

I panicked when I saw a sudden drop on the weighing scale after my first sauna, thinking I had miraculously lost a kilo. But my trainer reassured me it was just sweat and water weight, which is completely normal.

I used to think sitting in the gym steam room for twenty minutes would burn all my calories. But the scale just goes back up once you drink water. It is nice for recovery, but not for real weight loss.

Actually yaar, it's just a dehydration game. The moment you step out and have a bottle of water, that weight comes right back. Real fat loss needs actual workouts and diet control.

I can only speak from my own gym experience. I used the sauna regularly for relaxation, but my actual fat loss only happened when I started tracking my calories and walking daily.

My son was spending hours in the hot sauna trying to cut weight for his college sports meet and ended up fainting from dehydration. Please don't let anyone use this as a shortcut, it's very risky.
