Does running aid weight loss?

I'm trying to get back into shape and lose some extra weight. My friend suggested that running is one of the best ways to do it. Is running really effective for weight loss, or should I combine it with other exercises?

Yes, running burns a good amount of calories and definitely helps with weight loss. Just remember to pair it with a balanced diet, otherwise you won't see much progress. Start slowly to avoid shin splints or knee pain, and stay well hydrated.

Running is excellent for weight loss, but please check your blood pressure before starting a heavy running routine. For me, a mix of brisk walking and a controlled diet worked wonders. It is always safe to get a routine checkup done first to make sure your heart is ready for the strain.

Ji bilkul, running is very good for health and helps in reducing weight quickly. In our town, many young boys and girls run in the fields every morning. Just make sure to eat simple, healthy home-cooked food and avoid outside fried things to get the best results.

It definitely helps, provided you don't use running as an excuse to eat double the amount of biryani afterward! I tried running last month, but the local street food stall on my route always won. If you can control your cravings, it works like a charm!

Absolutely, running is a highly efficient way to burn calories. I track my runs on Strava and usually burn around 400 calories in a 5k run. Just ensure you are maintaining a calorie deficit on your tracker app to actually see the scale move down.

Running is great, but don't stress too much about running long distances on day one. Even a 20-minute jog can kickstart your metabolism. Just listen to your body, wear good shoes, and don't push yourself to the point of exhaustion. You got this!

I was looking up the same thing last week because I wanted to start outdoor workouts. From what I read, running helps build endurance and burns fat, but doing some strength training alongside is even better. I'm thinking of starting with short couch-to-5k runs first!
