Does rosuvastatin cause weight loss?

I recently started taking rosuvastatin for my cholesterol issues. I am also trying to lose some weight, so I was wondering if this medicine could actually help with that. Does it have any effect on weight loss?

Nahi yaar, weight loss toh iska direct side effect nahi hai. Haan, jab log cholesterol control karne ke liye parhez karte hain aur walk shuru karte hain, tab weight thoda kam ho jata hai na. Aap doctor se pooch lo ek baar clarity ke liye.

Honestly, I haven't noticed any weight loss since I started taking this medicine. I think any change in weight is usually because of the diet changes we make to lower cholesterol. Let me know if you experience anything different!

I agree, it doesn't directly cause weight loss. Any drop in weight is likely due to the healthier lifestyle and diet changes you adopt while on this medication.

I actually lost some weight when I started this, but it was mostly because I was extremely anxious about my heart health and lost my appetite. If you are losing weight rapidly without trying, please discuss it with your doctor to rule out other issues.

I wish it caused weight loss because I really don't want to give up my weekend samosas! But jokes aside, my doctor said statins don't burn fat. It's only the low-oil diet that's making the scale drop.
