Does red light therapy help with weight loss?

I've been trying hard to lose weight for months, but it's been a slow process, and I'm feeling a bit stuck. A fitness influencer I follow online was promoting red light therapy for boosting metabolism and fat loss. Does red light therapy truly help with weight loss, or is it mostly just a buzzword?

If your doctor permits, try adding a 40-minute daily brisk walk and some bodyweight exercises to your routine. No red light machine can replace the classic formula of consistent physical activity and a calorie deficit for weight loss.

In our times, weight was managed naturally by eating home-cooked meals before sunset and doing daily household chores. These modern light therapies sound like unnecessary shortcuts. Drink warm water with lemon in the morning, and eat simple, fresh food instead.

I completely understand how stressful and exhausting it is when you are trying hard to lose weight and nothing seems to work. It makes us want to buy any device we see online. But please don't stress; focus on gentle, sustainable lifestyle habits rather than relying on unproven light therapies.

My teenager was getting very conscious about weight and wanted to order a red light belt. I sat him down and explained that there is no magical shortcut to health. We started cooking balanced meals together and going for evening walks, which is much safer and actually works.

As someone managing diabetes, I know how hard it is to lose weight, but unproven therapies like red light are not the answer. Managing your blood sugar through portion control and reducing simple carbs is the only safe way. Always discuss your weight loss plans with your doctor.

Weight management is 80% about what you eat. Instead of investing in red light devices, try eating a balanced, fiber-rich vegetarian diet with plenty of salads, dal, and whole grains. Do consult a registered dietitian to get a personalized meal plan.
