Does prolia cause hair loss in women?

My doctor wants me to start on Prolia for my bones. I'm a bit hesitant because I've always had thick hair, and I've heard some medications can cause hair loss in women. Is this a side effect I should worry about with Prolia?

For mild hair thinning, drinking curry leaves juice or gently massaging coconut oil infused with hibiscus can help soothe the scalp. However, since Prolia is a serious injection for bones, you must tell your doctor about this hair loss to rule out other medical issues.

Actually, quite a few women have mentioned facing hair thinning with Prolia, yaar. It can be super annoying, but don't stop the medicine on your own. Just discuss it with your doc, they might suggest some supplements or local applications.

I can totally feel how stressful it must be to see your hair fall out while on a treatment. Try to focus on keeping your scalp clean, avoid tight hairstyles that pull your roots, and definitely mention this to your doctor during your next visit so they can guide you.

My mother experienced moderate hair thinning after her second Prolia injection. We talked to her endocrinologist who reassured us it happens to a small percentage of patients, and we switched to a gentle wide-tooth comb and avoided any chemical hair treatments which really helped reduce the breakage.

Yes, hair thinning is a known side effect for some women on this medication. A practical step is to check if you have any nutritional deficiencies like low iron or B12, and ask your doctor if you can take a daily multi-vitamin to help manage it.

If you are experiencing hair loss on this medication, take a close look at your daily diet. Ensuring you get enough protein from paneer, lentils, and nuts, along with zinc-rich seeds, can help support hair strength from within, though you still need your doctor's advice on the medication side effects.

Don't feel sad, beta. Sometimes these strong medicines cause some hair fall, but it usually gets fine slowly. Keep eating fresh green vegetables and fruits, and talk to your doctor when you go for your next checkup.
