Does omeprazole cause weight gain or weight loss?

I've been prescribed omeprazole for my gastritis. I'm very careful about my weight, so I wanted to ask. Does omeprazole cause weight gain or weight loss, or does it have no effect?

I tried jeera water and cold milk for months before starting omeprazole, but nothing worked. Personally, I didn't see any change in my scale weight during the course. Focus on getting your digestion right first, weight will manage itself.

In most cases, this medicine doesn't directly cause weight loss or gain. However, if your acidity gets cured, you might eat better and gain a bit, or sometimes people feel less bloated and feel lighter. It is best to monitor your diet while taking it.

Hey there! No major scale dramas with this one from my experience. It just quietly does its job of calming down the burning stomach. Just stick to your normal routine and you will be absolutely fine! 😊

I totally get it, we worry about every single side effect when starting a new medicine. Honestly, my weight remained completely stable. Just try to eat clean and don't stress over this too much.

If it actually caused weight loss, half of India would be taking it as a supplement! Jokes aside, it only handles your acidity. Your weight depends entirely on how many samosas you eat after your stomach stops burning.

Aisa direct change toh nahi hota weight mein, haan na. Acid thik hone ke baad bhook achhi lagti hai toh log thoda zyada kha lete hain. Par medicine se directly kuch change nahi hota, so dont worry.
