Does metformin help with weight loss?

My doctor said taking Metformin might also help me manage my weight, along with controlling my sugar. I'm hoping to lose some weight, so I wanted to ask if it actually helps with that.

Well, it does help a bit, but don't expect it to turn you into a fitness model overnight. At my age, even looking at a Gulab Jamun adds weight, but metformin has managed to keep my belly from expanding further. It works slowly, so keep your expectations realistic!

Everything happens in its own time, dear. Metformin does help in shedding some weight by keeping your inner system balanced. Just keep a positive mind, eat fresh sattvik food, and take good care of your body. Health will surely follow.

It helps with modest weight loss, but it's not a shortcut. Along with my high BP medication, I had to completely re-engineer my lifestyle with daily walks and salt control to see real changes. Make sure you are visiting your doctor for routine checkups to track your progress.

I tried all sorts of methi water and cinnamon tea first, but nothing worked for my stubborn weight till my doctor started me on metformin. It really helps regulate the sugar spikes that cause weight gain. Home remedies are good for general health, but sometimes medical help is necessary.

I have just been prescribed this and was also wondering if it really helps with weight loss. Does it cause any bad stomach issues in the first few days? I am a bit nervous to start my dose.

Actually yaar, it definitely helps. It's not like you will drop 5 kgs in a week, but it gradually reduces your appetite and sugar cravings. Just don't depend entirely on the pill, eat clean and it will do its job.
