Does melanoma cause weight loss?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with melanoma, and he's also lost a lot of weight very quickly. I was wondering if this kind of cancer can actually lead to significant weight loss. Should we be concerned about this symptom?

I can only speak from my family's experience when my cousin had a melanoma mole removed. He didn't experience any weight changes at all during the early stages. I can't give any medical reasons, but that's just what we saw.

Haha, I wish my weight loss was that simple! But seriously, early-stage melanoma is just on the skin and won't make you lose weight. If you are shedding kilos without trying, maybe you've been skipping parathas or working out too hard. Go see a doc to find the real culprit!

Unexplained weight loss usually indicates a deep imbalance in the body, but early melanoma rarely causes it. In my years of practice, I have seen weight shifts happen due to thyroid issues, stress, or digestive changes. Keep your mind calm with pranayama and consult a specialist for a proper diagnosis.

Oh god, even I have been worrying about this lately because I lost 3 kgs suddenly and have a dark mole on my arm. Does advanced skin cancer really cause this? Has anyone else here experienced unexplained weight loss along with skin issues? Please share, I am getting very nervous.

Any sudden, unexplained weight loss is a serious sign that needs a professional opinion. While early melanoma only affects the skin, advanced stages or other systemic issues can definitely cause weight changes. Please get a full body checkup done immediately to be absolutely safe.

In the early stages, melanoma does not cause any weight loss. It is mostly just a changing mole or spot on your skin. Please try not to worry, but do visit a doctor to get your doubts cleared.

Generally, skin issues don't alter your metabolism to cause weight loss. If you've recently changed your diet, started eating more green leafy veggies, or cut down on sugar, that might be the reason. But if it's happening without any diet changes, please get a professional opinion.

Look, simple logic—early stage melanoma is localized to the skin, so it won't affect your weight. If you are suddenly dropping weight like crazy, it could be thyroid, diabetes, or something else entirely. Stop reading internet articles and go meet a doctor tomorrow.

My uncle always says that sudden weight loss shouldn't be ignored, as it means the body is working too hard. He had a skin issue last year, but the oncologist clearly told us that early melanoma doesn't cause weight changes. Always trust what the specialist says after running the proper tests.

Honestly, I had a suspicious mole removed last year and my weight was completely normal throughout. The doctor told me weight loss only happens in very late stages if the cancer spreads, which is rare if you catch it early. Don't panic, just get the mole tested.
