Does lymphoma cause weight loss?

My uncle has been looking very weak lately, and we're worried about his health. He's undergoing tests for lymphoma. Is significant weight loss a common symptom that we should be concerned about with lymphoma?

When my father was diagnosed with lymphoma, rapid and unexplained weight loss was one of his very first symptoms, along with night sweats. He lost nearly 8 kilos in just a couple of months. We rushed him to the hospital as soon as we noticed this.

Bhai, yes, this sickness can cause the body to lose weight very quickly without any reason. If someone in your house is looking very weak and losing weight fast, do not wait or sit at home. Please take them to a big hospital and show them to a doctor.

Unexplained rapid weight loss is a serious medical red flag, not like my slow struggle with a normal diet. If you are losing weight without trying, along with feeling constantly exhausted, please skip the internet searches and go straight to a doctor.

Yes, sudden and unexplained weight loss is considered a classic symptom of lymphoma. If you are experiencing this along with persistent fever or swollen glands, please get basic blood tests and an oncologist's opinion without any delay.

Oh my god, yes, sudden weight loss is one of the key symptoms they look for in lymphoma diagnoses. It is so scary to think about, so please don't sit and stress about it at home. Go to a good physician immediately and get all the necessary tests done.

Significant weight loss that happens without diet or exercise changes is a warning sign that your body is fighting something serious. Just like I monitor my health parameters closely, you must get a comprehensive checkup if you notice this trend. Do not take it lightly.

From what I've researched, unexplained weight loss of more than 10% of body weight over six months is classified as a 'B symptom' of lymphoma. It happens because the cancer cells use up a lot of the body's energy. It definitely requires prompt medical attention.
