Does lowering cortisol help with weight loss?

I've been under a lot of stress recently, and despite my efforts, I'm struggling to lose weight. I read online that high cortisol levels due to stress can hinder weight loss. Does trying to lower cortisol actually help with shedding kilos?

In my younger days, I used to run behind crazy diets to lose weight but nothing worked because of work stress. Once I retired and my stress levels went down, the weight came off naturally. Lowering your stress hormone cortisol is absolutely key for your body to let go of stubborn fat.

I used to overthink my weight so much, which probably made my cortisol levels even higher! High cortisol literally signals your body to store belly fat for survival. Once I started meditating and stopped stressing over every gram of food, I finally started seeing results. You can do this, just try to relax.

With my 14-hour IT job and 4 hours of sleep, my cortisol levels must be touching the sky! Honestly, no gym routine works if you are constantly awake and stressed. If you manage to sleep well and lower that cortisol, let me know the secret too!

As someone managing high blood pressure, I know how deadly cortisol is. It raises your BP and keeps your sugar levels high, making weight loss almost impossible. Getting your stress under control through lifestyle changes and regular doctor checkups is the first step.

I was just reading some research papers on this! High cortisol apparently triggers sweet cravings and makes you store visceral fat. So lowering it by sleeping on time and doing yoga definitely helps in controlling appetite and losing weight.

While lowering stress is good, unexplained weight gain can also be due to thyroid issues or Cushings disease. Please get your cortisol and hormonal levels tested properly by a doctor instead of trying random stress-buster supplements from the internet.
