Does lisinopril cause weight loss?

My neighbour told me she actually lost some weight after she started taking lisinopril. I found that quite surprising, so I wanted to ask. Does lisinopril cause weight loss?

Directly weight loss nahi hota isse. If you are losing weight suddenly after starting lisinopril, it could be due to loss of appetite or some other underlying issue. Drastic weight drops are not normal, so better get a checkup done instead of ignoring it.

Weight loss is not a typical side effect of this drug. If you've recently started it and noticed the scale going down, check if you've also changed your diet or stress levels. If the drop is sudden and unexplained, you should definitely consult your cardiologist.

Usually, these strong blood pressure medicines do not reduce weight. If your health is feeling weak or you are losing appetite, try drinking a little ginger water or warm barley water to settle your stomach. But please make sure to visit your family physician to see why this is happening.

For mild stomach upset from medicines, I usually take a spoonful of saunf after meals which helps. But if you are experiencing continuous, rapid weight loss on lisinopril, don't rely on home remedies. Go see your doctor immediately as it could point to a kidney issue or reaction.

Hello there. In my experience with many family members taking this, none of them had weight loss because of lisinopril. Sometimes, if you feel a metallic taste or mild nausea, you might eat less. It's always best to keep a diary of your symptoms and show it to your doctor on your next visit.
