Does increased protein help with weight loss?

I'm trying to cut down on fat and build muscle, so I've increased my protein intake significantly. I've heard that protein is good for satiety. Does increased protein really help with weight loss efforts?

It worked wonders for me when I cut down on simple carbs and added more eggs and paneer to my lunch. Protein keeps you full for a long time, so you don't crave snacks at 4 PM. Just make sure you are still in a calorie deficit overall.

Absolutely, it helped me drop two sizes! I used to get hungry every two hours, but adding sattu or egg whites to my breakfast made a huge difference. You naturally eat less because protein makes you feel very satisfied.

I am also planning to start a higher protein diet to lose some weight, but I am a vegetarian. Can someone please tell me if drinking whey protein daily is safe for beginners, or should I just stick to eating more sprouts and paneer?

I was reading some articles on this and it seems protein suppresses hunger hormones like ghrelin. It makes total sense why people don't feel like bingeing after a heavy protein meal. I am thinking of trying this out by replacing my evening tea biscuits with roasted chana.

Protein has a higher thermic effect, meaning your body burns more energy digesting it compared to fats or carbs. It also preserves muscle mass when you are losing fat, which keeps your metabolism active. Keep it realistic, don't ignore your kidney health if you have any pre-existing issues, and drink lots of water.

When I visited my doctor at Apollo, he strictly told me not to blindly load up on protein shakes for weight loss. He suggested checking my uric acid levels and kidney function first. It is always better to get a customized diet chart from a qualified clinical nutritionist.
