Does hormone replacement therapy help with weight loss?

Since menopause, I've found it incredibly hard to lose weight, and my belly fat is increasing. I've heard some talk about HRT. Can hormone replacement therapy actually assist with weight loss for women like me?

Hormone replacement is not some fat burner, yaar. Actually, it only helps with weight loss if your thyroid or estrogen levels were totally crashed before. If your hormones are normal, this won't help you get lean.

I was reading up on this because my aunt is starting menopause therapy. It seems HRT can help redistribute stubborn belly fat for some women, but it's not a direct weight loss drug. It's more about getting the body's internal engine working properly again.

Be careful, because starting hormone replacement can sometimes affect your blood pressure. I always advise getting your BP checked regularly alongside any hormone treatments. Weight loss is best managed through a salt-controlled diet and steady lifestyle habits anyway.

I tried everything from methi water to fasting, but my menopausal weight just wouldn't budge until my doctor balanced my hormones. But even then, I had to eat simple, non-oily home meals. The therapy just gives you a fair starting point, you still have to do the work.

I can totally relate to feeling frustrated when hormonal shifts make you gain weight for no reason. Getting your hormones balanced under a doctor's care can definitely help ease that stubborn weight. Just stay patient and keep moving, you will see progress!

Keep in mind that HRT requires regular blood tests and doctor visits to monitor hormone levels, which can cost 1500 to 2000 rupees every few months. Calculate these ongoing costs before choosing this path. It is a commitment that goes beyond just buying the medicines.
