Does healthy texas women cover weight loss?

I came across this 'Healthy Texas Women' program online that seems to cover weight loss services. While it's a US program, I'm curious if Indian health insurance policies or government schemes for women also cover aspects of weight loss management. Is it common here?

Directly speaking, they don't cover commercial weight loss programs or cosmetic surgeries. But if you have PCOS or diabetes that is causing the weight issue, they do cover the diagnostic tests and doctor visits. Just get your doctor to code the tests under those medical conditions.

Haan na, weight loss support is so hard to get covered under these basic schemes. They mostly focus on family planning and regular checkups. Actually, you should check their website once or ask the clinic directly, ho na?

I always go to a reputed hospital for my health issues, and their billing desk told me these women's health programs have very specific rules. You should sit down with your doctor and ask clearly what they can bill under preventive care. Don't assume anything is covered beforehand.

I struggle with high blood pressure and weight, and I know these programs focus mostly on managing the basics. Regular checkups for BP and sugar are covered, which helps you monitor your health. Focusing on diet and walking is what worked for my lifestyle.

My cousin tried using this program and honestly, they didn't cover any weight loss drugs or dietitian fees. They only did her routine blood work and basic female wellness exams. If you want weight loss, you have to do the gym and diet part on your own.

In my experience, these government-supported programs are meant for essential reproductive health and basic screenings. Don't worry too much about medicine coverage; focusing on home-cooked meals and active habits is the real key that has kept us fit for generations.

As someone managing PCOS, I know how hard it is to lose weight, and coverage is always tricky. While they might not cover weight loss pills, they do cover the thyroid and hormone screenings which are so crucial. It is better to get those tests done first to find the root cause.
