Does going off birth control cause weight loss?

I've been on birth control for a few years now, and I feel like I've gained some weight since. If I go off it, can I expect to lose that weight, or is that just a myth?

Oh absolutely, I lost a good 2 kilos of pure water weight almost instantly, mostly because my body stopped holding onto water like a sponge! But don't expect to suddenly fit into your college jeans without some work. It is mostly just your hormones finally calming down and stops bloating you.

My wife went through this and we noticed her metabolism shifted slightly. When dealing with hormonal changes, it's very important to keep your blood sugar levels stable by eating high-fiber foods. Hormones can affect insulin sensitivity, so monitoring your diet is key during this transition.

Yes, many women do lose a bit of weight because the water retention and bloating from the pills finally go away.

It can help drop some stubborn water weight, but real fat loss still comes down to your daily activity and nutrition. When you come off the pill, use that extra energy to stay consistent with your workouts and eat clean. Your body will naturally find its balance over a few weeks.

When you stop taking these strong English medicines, the body takes time to clear out all the heat and chemicals. Drink warm fennel seed water in the morning to soothe your stomach and help your digestion settle. Give your body at least two to three months to return to its natural state.
