Does ezetimibe cause weight loss?

I'm on Ezetimibe for my cholesterol, and I'm also trying to lose some weight. I was just curious if this medicine could actually contribute to weight loss, or if it has no effect on it at all?

Ezetimibe is prescribed for cholesterol and doesn't directly cause weight loss. When managing hormonal issues like PCOS, we often hope heart medicines might help with weight, but this one doesn't have that effect. It is best to focus on balanced meals and gentle consistency.

Bhai, yeh cholesterol ki dawai hai, isse vajan kam nahi hota. Agar vajan kam karna hai toh roz thoda chalna padega aur meetha-tel kam khana hoga. Dawai toh bas doctor ke kahe anusar hi leni chahiye.

I started Ezetimibe last month and I feel like I've lost a couple of kilos, which is making me a bit anxious. Is this normal or could it be due to something else? Please let me know if anyone else experienced weight loss on this.

Ezetimibe won't help you shed weight; its only job is to block cholesterol absorption. For healthy weight loss, focus on high-fiber vegetarian foods like oats, sprouts, and leafy greens. Don't rely on lipid medication for slimming down.

I understand how confusing it is when your body changes while starting a new heart medicine. It's totally fine to feel worried. Just know that Ezetimibe doesn't typically cause weight loss, so any change might just be from a healthier lifestyle.

No, this medicine is strictly for managing high cholesterol and won't reduce weight. If you want to lose weight naturally, try drinking warm lemon water in the morning and cutting down sugar. But if you are losing weight very rapidly without trying, please consult your doctor.
