I know how stressful it is to figure out insurance coverage for these expensive medicines. Usually, they require a lot of prior approvals. I hope you find a way to get it sorted out smoothly.

Sometimes navigating these paperwork systems can be very tiring and test our patience. Stay positive and keep taking care of your health through natural means while the paperwork resolves. Things have a way of working out for the best.

When I asked my specialist at Max Hospital about this, they told me that insurance coverage for weight loss is highly variable. Your doctor's office needs to submit a detailed prior authorization form stating your BMI and co-morbidities. Better to have a direct talk with your consultant.

From my experience, Express Scripts rarely covers Mounjaro purely for weight loss unless you also have Type 2 Diabetes. You will likely need your doctor to file a specific appeal showing other treatments failed. Call their customer service directly and ask for the exact formulary list.

I am also trying to get my prescription approved and the whole process is making me so anxious. Has anyone here actually managed to get Express Scripts to cover it for obesity alone? Please let me know what documents you had to submit.
