Does excellus cover wegovy for weight loss?

I've been trying to lose weight for a while now and my doctor mentioned Wegovy. I have an Excellus insurance plan, so I'm trying to figure out if it will cover the cost for weight loss treatment. Does anyone know?

Insurance coverage for Wegovy can be tricky since it depends on your specific employer plan. I had to get a detailed prior authorization form filled out by my doctor showing my BMI and health history. Your best bet is to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card directly.

I totally get it, navigating insurance for weight loss medications is so exhausting and stressful. It feels like you have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic help. Keep pushing and check with your HR or insurance provider to see what their criteria is.

Honestly, dealing with insurance paperwork gives me more sleepless nights than my actual job! You really have to fight with them to get these new meds covered. Just call them directly and be prepared to stay on hold for a long time.

I am also looking into Wegovy for my health issues but the cost is very high. Does anyone know if they require you to try other diet plans or cheaper medications first before they approve it? Any advice would be really helpful.

Haan na, these weight loss injections are so expensive, without insurance it is almost impossible to afford. Excellus might cover it but only if the doctor submits proper medical documents. Apne doctor se discuss karke approval process start karva lo.

Getting these expensive injections approved by insurance is a long process. Honestly, while you try to figure out the insurance coverage, focusing on high-fiber food and regular home-cooked meals can really support your health journey. It takes time but stay patient.
