Does estrogen replacement help weight loss?

Since starting menopause, I've noticed my metabolism slow down and it's harder to manage my weight. Can estrogen replacement therapy actually help with weight loss, or is that not a benefit?

Estrogen replacement is prescribed for managing severe menopause symptoms, not for weight loss. If you want to lose weight, don't look for a hormonal shortcut; focus on meal prep and consistent daily exercise.

I was also hoping it would help with weight, but my doctor told me it only helps balance things so you don't feel constantly fatigued. Once your energy is back, it becomes much easier to work out and eat right.

I have been feeling so tired and gaining weight despite eating less, so I am wondering if estrogen replacement would help. Has anyone else here actually lost weight after starting it, or did it make things worse?

Hormone tests and doctor consultations are quite expensive these days. Don't spend thousands on hormone therapy thinking it will help you lose weight; instead, invest that money in fresh vegetables, fruits, and a gym membership.

As someone managing high BP, I can tell you that lifestyle is the only real solution for weight issues. Estrogen therapy is medical and shouldn't be used lightly. Get regular health checkups and stick to a low-salt diet instead.
