Does early pregnancy cause stomach cramps?

I just found out I'm pregnant, it's very early. I've been feeling some mild stomach cramps, almost like period pain. Is it normal to have these in early pregnancy?

Yes, mild stomach cramps are very normal as your uterus is starting to expand. Just try to lie down and rest, it usually passes in a little while.

Yes, light cramping is totally normal as the embryo settles in. Just make sure you are getting enough bed rest.

Mild uterine contractions are common in the first trimester as implantation happens and blood flow increases. I tracked my symptoms on my app and noticed they usually happened after long standing hours. If you track them and notice they get severe or have bleeding, contact your doctor immediately.

My wife had these cramps early on. Instead of rushing to buy expensive medicines, the doctor just told her to rest and drink plenty of water. Keep yourself hydrated and avoid lifting heavy buckets or bags around the house.
