Does diet coke cause kidney stones?

I've been struggling with kidney stones recently, and my doctor advised me to watch my diet. I drink Diet Coke every day, thinking it's harmless. Could Diet Coke cause kidney stones, or is it unrelated?

The phosphoric acid in dark sodas like diet coke is known to increase the risk of kidney stones if consumed in large quantities. I track my daily water intake closely on my fitness tracker to make sure I am flushing my system properly. Try to limit sodas and drink at least 3 liters of water daily.

Managing high BP has taught me that lifestyle balance is key. Carbonated sodas contain sodium and acids that can burden your kidneys over time if you already have issues. Get your regular kidney function tests done during your yearly checkup to be safe.

I absolutely panicked when I had a mild side pain last year and thought my diet coke habit gave me kidney stones. After getting an ultrasound, it was just gas! The doctor told me that while high soda intake isn't great, having a can once in a while won't magically give you stones. Just stay hydrated.

Clinical studies suggest a correlation between high consumption of phosphoric acid-containing colas and kidney stone formation. However, individual predisposition and overall hydration levels play a far larger role. It is highly advisable to discuss this with a urologist if you have a history of stones.

I just got treated for a 5mm kidney stone last month, and the first thing my doctor told me was to stop drinking all dark colas. The phosphoric acid in diet coke can definitely contribute to calcium oxalate stones. Save yourself the pain and switch to fresh lemon water.

I used to be obsessed with diet coke during my college days. My doctor told me that the phosphoric acid can make your urine more acidic, which might lead to stones if you don't drink enough water. Now I always drink a glass of water after having one.

The fear of getting kidney stones again makes me so anxious every time I look at a soda can. It was such a painful experience that I completely cut out diet coke. If you are already prone to stones, the worry just isn't worth it, trust me.
