Does cymbalta cause weight gain in women?

My doctor prescribed Cymbalta for my ongoing issues, and I'm a bit worried about gaining weight. I heard some medicines affect women differently in terms of metabolism. Is weight gain a common side effect of Cymbalta specifically for women?

I was just prescribed this for my nerve pain and I am really scared about putting on weight. Does this weight gain happen because of water retention or does it actually increase hunger? If anyone could share, it would help me a lot.

My daughter was prescribed this for fibromyalgia and she was also very worried about gaining weight. I helped her by preparing fresh home meals and we went for walks together every evening. She only gained a tiny bit of weight, but her pain relief was a much bigger blessing.

It can make you feel a bit more hungry, yes! I just made sure to keep healthy snacks like makhana and fruits nearby so I didn't binge on junk. Keep moving and you will be absolutely fine.

We women often face hormonal shifts that make weight management hard anyway. When I took this, I drank warm cinnamon tea daily to manage my insulin levels and kept my dinner very light. It really helped in preventing any major weight changes.

I was on it for six months and did notice about 3 kg of weight gain, mostly because my sweet cravings went through the roof. Once I stopped the medication under my doctor's guidance, my appetite went back to normal and the weight came off quite easily.

Haan, weight gain toh ho sakta hai, standard side effect hai women me. But medicine stop mat karna bina doctor se soche samjhe na. Thoda active lifestyle rakhoge toh weight manage ho jayega araam se.
