Does cycling help weight loss?

My dietician suggested I add some physical activity for my weight loss journey. I was thinking of buying a cycle, but not sure if it's really effective for shedding kilos. My friend said running is better, but I find cycling more fun and sustainable.

Haan yaar, cycling actually helps a lot with weight loss! I started doing it around Koregaon Park daily for 40 minutes and saw a good difference in my stamina. Just make sure you track your diet too, because empty stomach cycling will only make you super hungry later.

Does it really work without causing knee pain though? I tried cycling for a week and my joints started hurting so much that I got scared and stopped. Has anyone else experienced this kind of joint issue when starting out?

It burns calories for sure, but the real struggle is not eating double the amount after coming back! Cycling makes me crave hot butter naan and chicken so much. If you can control the post-ride food cravings, then it definitely works wonders.

Yes, it works but only if you maintain a calorie deficit. Just cycling won't do much if your diet isn't clean. Try to do interval cycling where you pedal fast for 2 minutes and slow for 1 minute; it boosts fat loss much faster.

At my age, I can tell you that cycling is one of the best low-impact exercises for staying active. It helped me bring my weight down slowly over two years without hurting my ankles. Consistency is the real secret here, not speed.

It can help, but with PCOS we have to be a bit careful about over-exhausting our bodies with high intensity cardio. I do gentle cycling for 30 minutes and it helps manage my insulin levels without stressing my system. Just listen to your body and don't push too hard.
