Does coffee help with weight loss?

I'm trying to shed a few kilos and have been exercising regularly. I've heard some people say coffee can boost metabolism and help with weight loss. Is this true, or is it just a myth?

Black coffee is a great pre-workout drink because it boosts your energy and metabolism slightly. But honestly, it won't do much for weight loss unless your overall diet is in a calorie deficit and you are staying active daily.

I track my daily steps and food on MyFitnessPal, and black coffee definitely helps suppress my appetite during fasting hours. Just make sure you aren't adding sugar or heavy milk, because those extra liquid calories will show up on your app tracking real quick!

Please be careful with this. I started drinking too much black coffee on an empty stomach to lose weight and ended up with severe gastritis and palpitations that required a doctor's visit. It is always better to consult a clinical nutritionist instead of trying extreme hacks.

Instead of too much coffee which can cause heat in the body, try drinking warm water with lemon or a bit of jeera water in the morning. If your weight gain is sudden or due to hormonal issues like thyroid, it is always best to visit a doctor first for proper blood tests.

I used to obsess over everything I drank, hoping for a miracle weight loss cure, and it was so mentally draining. Coffee can slightly boost your metabolism, but please don't stress yourself out trying to drink it bitter if you hate the taste. Be kind to yourself.

I am thinking of starting a weight loss journey and I wanted to ask, do we have to drink it without any milk at all? I find black coffee very bitter to drink in the morning, so can I add just a little skimmed milk without sugar?

While caffeine can mildly stimulate thermogenesis and suppress appetite, the effect on long-term weight loss is minimal. There is no shortcut to a structured caloric deficit and active lifestyle. If you have any underlying metabolic issues, consulting a bariatric specialist or physician is highly recommended.

I recently lost about 8 kgs over six months, and having a cup of unsweetened black coffee in the afternoon really helped control my sweet cravings. It isn't a magic drug, but it definitely serves as a good tool if you combine it with portion control.

I started drinking three cups of black coffee daily for fat burn, but now my heart races and I feel super jittery. Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if the weight loss benefit is even worth this constant anxiety.

It can give you a nice energy boost before you go for your morning walk. If your doctor allows regular cardiovascular exercise, try having some plain black coffee 30 minutes before your workout to help you push a bit harder.

If you are drinking standard Indian filter coffee with lots of sugar, cream, and love, then absolutely not! But if you drink plain black coffee, it might help a little. Just don't expect it to melt away last night's biryani by magic.

Bro, black coffee works as an appetite suppressant for a couple of hours, which makes calorie cutting easier. But you still have to hit the gym and watch what you eat. Don't fall for those fancy 'slim coffee' ads, normal instant coffee is enough.
