Does bcbstx cover mounjaro for weight loss?

Hearing a lot about Mounjaro for weight loss lately. My BCBSTX plan is usually good, but not sure about newer medications like this. Can anyone confirm if it's covered?

I tried drinking warm lemon water and amla juice for years, but sometimes medical help is necessary. BCBSTX does cover Mounjaro, but they often require you to have a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. If it's purely for weight loss, they might ask you to try other covered drugs first.

Since I have thyroid issues, my doctor was very careful about prescribing weight loss medications. BCBSTX is quite strict with Mounjaro because it is primarily for diabetes. Make sure your doctor monitors your blood levels regularly if you do get the approval.

While you look into the insurance coverage for these modern medicines, please also focus on gentle yoga and deep pranayama daily. It helps calm the mind and improves digestion, which supports whatever medical path your doctor chooses for you.

Hey! My friend got her Mounjaro approved by BCBSTX recently, so there is definitely hope! Just make sure your doctor's office submits all the paperwork correctly. Good luck on your health journey!

I am also trying to understand how BCBSTX handles these prescriptions. Does anyone know if they require a high copay even after the doctor gets the approval? I am a bit nervous about the monthly cost.

Please be very careful with Mounjaro. I had severe stomach complications when I started it, and had to stop. BCBSTX has strict criteria for a reason, so please consult a specialist and get a complete checkup done before trying to get it covered.
