Does anthem cover mounjaro for weight loss?
My doctor recently recommended Mounjaro to me for weight management, especially with my diabetes. I have Anthem insurance, so I need to check if they cover Mounjaro for weight loss purposes. Any idea?

On my Anthem plan, they refused coverage for Mounjaro because my primary goal was weight loss. However, my friend who has Type 2 diabetes got it covered under the same insurance company.

Mounjaro is a very expensive medicine, beta. Our relatives tried checking with Anthem, and they said they only give it if you have sugar problems. Do ask your doctor to check for you.

Don't blindly believe anyone online saying Anthem covers it. Insurance policies are highly customized by employers. You must verify your specific drug formulary list with your HR or Anthem agent directly.
