Does accutane cause weight loss?

It's been a month since I started Accutane, and I've noticed I've lost a couple of kilos. I wasn't trying to lose weight, so I'm a bit confused. Is weight loss a known side effect of this medication?

Haha, I wish it did! Sadly, it doesn't burn fat for you. Any weight loss is probably just because of a loss of appetite from the dry mouth or stomach issues. Don't worry, just keep eating your parathas normally.

Unexplained weight loss is not a typical side effect of this medicine. If you are losing weight rapidly, it could indicate some liver issues or digestive changes that need medical attention. Please consult your dermatologist or family doctor to rule out any complications.

Hey, weight loss isn't a direct effect of the medicine itself. Sometimes, people feel a bit nauseous or lose their appetite when they start. Try to eat small, regular meals and if you feel it's getting too much, speak to your doctor right away.

I have noticed my weight dropping a bit since I started last month, and now I'm getting worried. Did anyone else also lose their appetite or experience weight loss on this? Please let me know, I'm a bit tense.

I actually lost some weight because the medication made me feel super anxious and I lost my appetite. It was a tough phase for me emotionally. If you are feeling down or losing weight due to stress, please talk to someone.

Normally it shouldn't cause weight loss. Try having some fresh buttermilk or coconut water daily to keep your stomach cool and appetite healthy. But if you are losing weight very fast, please do not ignore it and see your doctor.
