Does a ketogenic diet cause kidney stones?

I'm thinking of trying a keto diet for weight loss, as many of my friends have had success with it. However, I read somewhere that it might increase the risk of kidney stones. Is there truth to this, or is it just a misconception?

In our town, we always eat simple, balanced home food. Eating too much heavy meat and fat in these new diets can put a lot of strain on your body. It is better to avoid extreme diets and eat everything in moderation.

I was researching keto recently and read that the high amount of animal protein can make your urine more acidic, which increases the risk of uric acid stones. It seems like you have to be very careful with hydration if you do it.

Actually, a strict keto diet can sometimes increase calcium excretion in urine, which might lead to stones if you don't drink enough water. If you have a family history of kidney issues, please consult a doctor before starting keto.

Maine suna hai ki keto se stones hone ka risk badh jata hai, haan. Paani kam peene se toh problem aur badh jaegi. Safe side rehne ke liye normal ghar ka khana hi khana chahiye na.
