Do you poop a lot in early pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant and I've been feeling some changes. I actually feel like I'm pooping much more frequently than usual. Is this a normal thing that happens in early pregnancy, or should I be worried?

People online will tell you all sorts of things are 'normal' symptoms, but you shouldn't just guess. While hormonal shifts can affect your stomach, sudden diarrhea or frequent bowel movements can also cause dehydration. Better to consult your gynaecologist to be absolutely safe.

During my first pregnancy, I had severe stomach upset and ignored it, which made me very weak and dehydrated. Please watch out for any cramping or severe loose motions. It is always best to let your doctor know about any major changes in your digestion.

In early pregnancy, the body goes through so many changes, beta. Sometimes the stomach gets upset because of the new vitamins or different foods you are eating. Don't worry, just eat simple khichdi and dahi, and rest as much as you can.

Hormones like progesterone can really mess with your digestion in the first trimester, causing either constipation or sometimes loose stools. Make sure you are drinking enough coconut water and ORS to stay hydrated. If it goes on for more than two days, just drop a message to your doctor.

A little stomach disturbance is expected when a new life is growing inside you. You can drink a glass of buttermilk with a pinch of roasted jeera powder to soothe your stomach. But remember, do not take any strong herbs or medicines without asking your doctor first.

Honestly, during my first few weeks, my digestion was completely all over the place. I was actually going to the washroom three times a day instead of my usual routine. Once my body adjusted to the prenatal vitamins, things went back to normal.
