Do you feel cramps in early pregnancy?

Getting my positive pregnancy test result yesterday, I'm very happy but also a bit nervous. Mild, period-like cramps have been felt on and off. Is it normal to feel cramps during early pregnancy, or should I be concerned?

Yes beta, mild cramps can happen as the uterus prepares itself for the beautiful journey ahead. Keep your mind calm with gentle deep breathing and avoid any strenuous postures. But do listen to your body and rest when it asks.

Oh absolutely, those early cramps had me running to the bathroom every five minutes to check for my period. It is just your uterus stretching, but honestly, the anxiety it causes is so exhausting. Try to sleep through it if your body let you!

Yes, my daughter had these cramps during her first month and she was very tense. I told her to sit with her feet up and drink warm milk. If the pain is mild and goes away with rest, there is no need to worry, dear.

I am having some light cramping and I was really scared because this is my first pregnancy. Is it normal for it to feel like mild menstrual cramps? I am too shy to ask my family about it just yet.

I totally get it, those early weeks are filled with so much worry and every little cramp feels scary. Mild stretching sensations are completely normal as your baby makes room. Just take deep breaths and try to pamper yourself thoda.

Yes, mild cramping is quite standard in the first trimester. However, if the cramps are sharp, localized to one side, or if there is any bleeding, do not ask around on forums. Go straight to your ob-gyn immediately.

I am feeling these dull cramps off and on, and I am so anxious. Did anyone else experience this around week 6 and still have a perfectly healthy pregnancy? I really need some reassurance right now.

Yes, your uterus is basically remodeling itself like an overenthusiastic builder, so some noise and cramps are expected! Just don't let it stress you out. Unless it feels like a major emergency, sit back and enjoy the pampering.
