Do you cramp during early pregnancy?

Just got a positive pregnancy test and I'm so excited, but also a little worried. Some mild cramping, almost like period pain, has been happening on and off. Is it normal to experience cramping in the very early stages of pregnancy?

Listen, mild cramping is very normal in the first few weeks as your uterus is expanding to make space for the baby. Just rest as much as you can and don't lift heavy things. But if the cramps get very severe or you see any spotting, please call your gynecologist immediately.

My wife had mild cramping early on too. During this time, keeping your nutrition clean and staying hydrated is super important, especially if you have any history of high blood sugar. Avoid self-medicating with any pain killers without your doctor's green light.

My wife went through this during her first trimester and we both panicked like crazy. The doctor told us that mild pulling sensations are totally normal because of all the hormonal changes. Just make sure your partner is resting and not stressing too much.

Oh god, the early pregnancy cramps had me googling symptoms at 2 AM while trying not to throw up. Yes, it is very common as your body stretches, but please get some rest. Trust me, you want to sleep as much as you can now before the baby actually gets here!

Yes, mild cramps can happen as your body adapts to the changes. Keep doing light stretching or pelvic tilts if your doctor allows, as it helps with the blood flow. Also, make sure you are drinking enough water because dehydration can make muscle cramps worse.

I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and feeling these mild stomach cramps, so I was really worried. Is it normal for them to feel like light period pains, or should I be worried? I haven't had my first scan yet so I am a bit nervous.

Mild implantation cramping is common, but as a rule of thumb, if the cramps are one-sided, very sharp, or accompanied by shoulder pain, you need to head to the hospital. Do not take any painkillers like Combiflam on your own. Always consult your ob-gyn first.
