Do water tablets help weight loss?

I've been trying to lose some weight, and a friend suggested 'water tablets' might help. He said they make you shed water weight quickly. Do these actually work for weight loss, or is it just a temporary fix?

Hey, don't stress too much about quick weight loss shortcuts. Water tablets, or diuretics, only make you lose water weight by going to the bathroom more, not actual body fat. Once you drink water, it comes back, so it is not a real solution at all.

I totally get it, when you are trying hard to lose weight, any quick solution looks very tempting. But these tablets can make you feel very weak and dehydrated. Please be gentle with your body and focus on natural fat loss methods instead.

I was looking into this because some fitness influencers mention using them before photo shoots. Honestly, from what I read, it seems quite risky and the weight loss is purely temporary water loss. Doesn't seem worth the risk to our health.

My doctor prescribed me water tablets specifically for my ankle swelling due to fluid retention. They did reduce my weight on the scale slightly, but it was just fluid leaving my body, not fat. I would never use them without a direct prescription.

Water tablets are actually medical diuretics prescribed for conditions like high blood pressure or kidney issues. Using them for cosmetic weight loss can lead to severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. It is highly recommended to consult a doctor before taking any such pills.

My brother was once thinking of buying these online, but our family doctor warned us that they can damage the kidneys if taken unnecessarily. True fat loss only comes from a proper diet and active lifestyle, not from these pills.
