Do they put you to sleep for wisdom teeth removal?

My wisdom teeth are coming in and they are causing a lot of pain and crowding. I heard removal can be complicated. Will they put me completely to sleep for wisdom teeth removal, or will I just be sedated?

Usually they only use local anesthesia, but since my extraction was deep and had complications, I recommend having a detailed talk with your oral surgeon about sedation options.

Nope, you're awake to hear all the cracking sounds! They just numb your mouth so you feel like a cartoon character for a few hours.

They only numb the tooth area so you stay awake. It's super fast, and you get to eat lots of ice cream afterward.

They use local numbing injections. Just make sure to inform the dentist if you have thyroid issues, as it is good for them to know your health status.

No beta, you remain awake. Use warm saltwater rinses gently from the second day to keep the extraction spot clean and heal faster.

You stay awake. My tip is to keep ice packs ready at home and apply them to your cheek immediately after extraction to prevent swelling.
