Do squats help with weight loss?

Trying to lose some weight after my pregnancy, my trainer suggested adding squats to my routine. I wanted to know if squats are actually effective for overall weight loss or just for toning legs. My metabolism is also a bit slow these days.

Squats are great, but if you have any knee or back issues, please ask your doctor before starting. When I visited my physician at Apollo, he told me that wrong posture in squats can damage joints during weight loss. Better to get a professional opinion first.

Don't blindly trust online fitness influencers who say squats alone will burn all your belly fat. Weight loss is a complex process involving metabolism, hormones, and calorie deficit. Talk to a certified clinical nutritionist or doctor to get a personalized plan instead.

My grandmother always used to say that household chores involving squatting keep the body active and fit. However, for structured weight loss, it is always best to consult your family doctor once. They can guide you on the right amount of exercise for your age.

I can only speak from my own experience, but doing 3 sets of bodyweight squats daily really toned my thighs and helped me lose about 4 kgs over three months. I also made sure to reduce my rice intake. It worked wonders for my stamina too.

Hey, don't stress too much about intense gym workouts! Just start with basic squats at home while watching TV. It is super simple and actually works if you do it daily. You've got this, just take it easy!

Squats increase your metabolic rate by targeting large muscle groups like glutes and quadriceps. However, if you are highly overweight, please consult a physiotherapist or doctor first to prevent any joint injuries. A balanced approach is always the safest way to lose weight.

At 54, trying to do deep squats makes my knees make noises like old rusty doors! But honestly, even semi-squats have helped me feel lighter. Just don't push yourself so hard that you can't walk the next day!

Squats will definitely build strength, but remember that weight loss is 80% diet. If you do squats but keep eating heavy fried snacks, you won't see results. Pair your exercise with a clean, protein-rich vegetarian diet like dal, paneer, and sprouts.

I tried all kinds of detox waters and fasting, but nothing worked until I started basic movements like squats and brisk walking. Start slowly with just 10 squats a day, don't strain your knees. Consistency is the real key to losing weight, stay patient.

Hamare yahan toh pehle se hi baithkar kaam karne ki aadat hoti hai, woh bhi ek tarah ka squat hi hai. It keeps the body flexible and helps reduce extra weight naturally. Do it slowly every day and eat simple home-cooked food, you will feel very light and healthy.

Squats are fantastic because they build muscle which burns fat even when you are resting. Combine them with 30 minutes of daily walking for the best cardiovascular results. Just ensure your doctor clears you for joint exercises first.
