Do sauna suits help with weight loss?

My friend suggested I try a sauna suit to help me sweat more during workouts and lose weight faster. Do sauna suits really help with weight loss, or is it just water weight? I'm thinking of buying one.

I panicked when I saw a 1.5 kg drop on the scale after wearing it for a run, but then I gained it all back after drinking a bottle of water. It's just water sweat, completely normal and nothing to worry about. Don't use it thinking you are burning real fat.

I used sauna suits during my wrestling days to cut weight quickly, but let me tell you, it's highly temporary. It only drains your fluids. For actual, permanent fat loss, focus on a high-protein diet and strength training instead of sweating excessively.

Wearing airtight suits to trap heat can lead to heat stroke and severe electrolyte imbalance. Before trying any such extreme methods for weight loss, please get your kidney function and heart health checked by a general physician.

My son wanted to buy one of these to lose weight for his sports meet. I stopped him because trapping all that sweat can cause severe skin infections and heat exhaustion. We just adjusted his home diet and he lost weight safely without any fancy suits.

With PCOS, we already struggle with heat tolerance and dehydration. I personally wouldn't risk using a sauna suit as it can mess with your hydration levels. It is much safer to focus on insulin sensitivity through balanced meals.
