Do protein bars help with weight loss?

I'm hitting the gym regularly and trying to shed some kilos. A friend suggested I incorporate protein bars into my snack routine as a way to stay full. Do protein bars help with weight loss, or are they just a convenient snack?

My nutritionist at Max Hospital strictly advised me against relying on protein bars for weight loss. Most of them are loaded with hidden sugars and calories. You should ask your doctor or a qualified clinical dietitian before adding them to your routine.

These packaged bars are not natural. For weight loss, it is much better to eat boiled chana, roasted makhana, or sprouts at home. However, if you are experiencing sudden, extreme weight changes, please see a doctor to rule out any underlying health issues.

Be very careful with protein bars, especially if you have high blood sugar. Many brands use artificial sweeteners or maltodextrin which can spike your glucose levels quickly. Always read the ingredient list and check your sugars regularly.

Those protein bars are very expensive, costing 100 to 150 rupees per bar! Instead of wasting money on them, you can buy a whole kilo of sattu or eggs which will last you two weeks. Save your money for important routine blood checkups instead.

Listen, eating a chocolate-flavored bar and calling it 'diet' won't make you thin. They are high in calories and meant for busy people who skip meals, not for sitting at home and losing weight. Stick to simple home-cooked meals if you want real results.

Don't believe these fitness influencers selling protein bars as diet foods. If you look at the back label, they often have as many calories as a regular chocolate bar. Always verify with a certified dietitian rather than trusting internet trends.
