Do prebiotics help with weight loss?

I've been trying to improve my gut health and heard that prebiotics are good for digestion. I also want to lose a few kilos. Do prebiotics specifically help with weight loss, or are their benefits more focused on digestion?

There is a lot of marketing hype around prebiotics for weight loss, but scientific backing is limited. Don't waste money on fancy supplements based on internet trends. Consult a qualified nutritionist or doctor who can plan a proper calorie-deficit diet for you.

Honestly, prebiotics just help feed the good bacteria in your stomach, which improves digestion. I started eating more high-fiber foods like onions and garlic for this, and my bloating went down. It makes you feel lighter, but actual weight loss still needs physical activity.

I spent months buying expensive prebiotic powders hoping they would help me lose weight because I was so desperate and sad about my body. They only helped with my mild constipation, but the weight didn't budge. I understand how frustrating it is, but please don't pin all your hopes on this.

My son tried these supplement drinks for weight loss, but they did not help much and just caused some gas. We realized that simple home-cooked meals with plenty of green vegetables are much better. Focus on balanced family meals instead of these processed prebiotic items.

I am also planning to buy prebiotic fibers to help with my stubborn belly fat, but I am worried if they will cause stomach cramps. Has anyone here actually lost real weight just by adding prebiotics to their daily routine? I'd love to know before spending money.
